Audience Feedback from First Cut

What genre would you say our film is?

The results show that most people got the grasp of the genre our trailer is. Although the majority said Romance, often drama's can be mistaken for romance and the genre is originally a sub-genre from drama. This is also justified by the romance within our narrative which may have given people this impression.

Would you watch this film?

Out of 21, only 1 person said they wouldn't watch this film, therefore showing that our first draft created a successful media product that would be viewed by audiences.

What did you like?

The majority of the people commented that the shot of the rose in the beginning of the trailer, and throughout was their favourite element of our trailer. Therefore we should aim to keep this aspect in our trailer. Other than the basic narrative of our story, many people also commented that the titles we used to explain our storyline were very effective and professional looking.

What would you change?

The thing people would most want to change in our trailer were specific shots that all varied. For example one person commented that some shots were unclear and other commented that some shots did not fit. Despite the large number of people liking our titles, quite a few would change the wording of them or the font they came in. Ultimately however many people left this section blank with one person saying, "I wouldn't. Very good trailer."

Did you understand the story line?

Most people said they understood our trailer, with only four claiming they sort of grasped the concept. However this is expected of trailer and more often than not, some film makers deliberately create this effect in their trailer to create a sense of enigma and intrigue in their trailer leaving the audience guessing and wanting to find out more about the trailer and film.
