We have chosen Fantasy Drama as the genre of our trailer.
This is because we all thoroughly enjoy the genre and believe its broad conventions allow us to experiment and play around with a combination of idea's.
Films such as Lord Of The Rings, Harry Potter, Avatar fall under this category and not only are vastly popular but are greatly associated with Action.
There is great limitation that comes from choosing the fantasy genre; and that is the fact that alot of fantasy films rely heavily on big budgets for CGI effects.
We simply do not have the budget or technology to create these effects; so we have decided to look further into the genre based around films such as The Time Travellers Wife, About Time and The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button.
In all 3 films, love is a major theme and is the basis for the main storyline. However with each main character there is a particular aspect to their life that coincides with the fantasty genre.
For example; In the Curious Case Of Benjamin Button -a boy is born with the appearance and physical maladies of an elderly man, and lives his life more or less backwards.
